# Cloud Native: CNCF’s new India schedule shows where platform engineering and AI operations are colliding next

CNCF’s newly announced KubeCon + CloudNativeCon India 2026 schedule points to a 
familiar convergence: AI + ML, observability, operations, platform engineering, 
and security are no longer distinct conversations. They are the same production 
conversation viewed from different seats.

Conference agendas can be noisy indicators, but they are still useful demand signals.
When an event highlights distributed LLM inferencing on Kubernetes, open control
in observability, leapfrog upgrades, shared-first platform design, and identity 
and authorization for agentic AI in the same program, that is not random curation.
It reflects what practitioners are currently tripping over.

My read is that India’s cloud native community is surfacing the next obvious truth
for infrastructure teams: AI workloads are not replacing platform engineering work.
They are piling on top of it. GPU orchestration, model routing, telemetry volume,
identity, and self-service design all land on the same operators and platform builders.

The most interesting part of the announcement may be what it implies about skills
demand. CNCF cites strong Kubernetes adoption for AI workloads but much lower daily
AI deployment. That gap usually means the industry has chosen the substrate before
it has normalized the operating model. These schedules are where you can see the
industry trying to close that gap in public.

In other words: the track list is the roadmap. Platform teams should pay attention.
